Uncoated printing throughout the text producing vibrant colours.
The booklet designed by MyttonWilliams, around the theme of uncoated printing, was very well received.
The idea behind the Opal Valentines book was to produce a piece of print on uncoated paper that would show of the spectrum of colours that can still be achieved when not using coated stocks. For this we chose to print CMYK on one of our favourite uncoated stocks, Perfect Image from www.antalis.co.uk. The text was printed at 175lpi on 150gsm. All our print is produced using specially calibrated and tested colour curves that we apply when making the printing plates to accomodate for dot gain. This produces vibrant colours and detailed imagery.
For the cover, 300gsm Olin Rough Absolute White was used for it's beautiful tactile feel and the excellent results that can be achieved when foiling. The cover was foiled using Holographic foil. The final finish was PUR bound and the 8pp cover added that extra special feel to the book with the soft foredges leaving the text slighty inset.
