August 2011 - FSC Certification
Opal Print has commenced it’s review and amendment of procedures in order to gain the
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification. FSC is an independent, non-governmental,
not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
Established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide.
The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value.

March 2009 - Opal Print installs Konica Minolta Bizhub 6501
Opal Print have installed a Konica Minolta Bizhub 6501, it’s first move in to offering short run digital printing. Partner Jim Lunt spent eighteen months researching and trialling options on the market before deciding the Bizhub 6501 offered the quality and flexibility required to compete in the digital market.
Digital print quality has improved dramatically over the last few years on all manufacturers machines however the Konica Minolta quality was the most impressive and the range of stocks that could be printed on was extensive and offered the added benefit that most litho stocks could be used as well.
With print run lengths reducing and on demand print being increasingly requested by Opal Prints customers, this made the investment vital in order to keep Opal Print well equipped to serve it’s customers requirements in the future.
